Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is increasingly becoming a major force in Nigeria’s political landscape. His detractors are restless, churning out false narratives and predictions about his next moves. However, their calculations often miss the mark, as the governor continues to rise against all odds.
Observers have noted that his growing political influence, humility, and commitment to delivering good governance have unsettled opposition forces in Delta State. These detractors are now resorting to misinformation to undermine his achievements.
One key point of contention is Governor Oborevwori’s strong working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Political analysts believe this cordial bond is causing serious cracks within the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“They can’t stomach his friendship with President Tinubu. It’s choking them, and their wailing is loud,” a political observer noted.
Governor Oborevwori’s presence on the global stage further cements his influence. Recently, in Ghana, he was a special guest of former President John Mahama. The two leaders were seen walking side by side, with media outlets across Africa capturing the moment.
“Oborevwori is the biggest political masquerade in Delta State right now. His reelection in 2027 will be a walkover,” Fred Latimore stated confidently.
Despite speculations, Oborevwori remains committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His collaboration with the federal government is strictly for the benefit of Deltans, particularly in revamping federal institutions in the state.
The reopening of the Warri Refinery is a testament to this collaboration. Diesel and kerosene trucking from the refinery has resumed, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
“We thank President Tinubu for playing a pivotal role in reviving the refinery. Deltans are already benefiting, and we hope to see petrol distribution soon,” Latimore added.
Governor Oborevwori’s administration is focused on advancing Delta State through purposeful leadership and bridge-building across party lines. His achievements so far have unsettled his critics, making the 2027 governorship election a seemingly easy win for him.
“For now, the governor is focused on delivering good governance. Political campaigns will come at the right time. For now, it’s about service to the people,” Latimore concluded.
