Edo state Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu is set to host members of the forth estate of the realm on Monday, December 21, 2020.
In this annual reception, Journalists from various media organisations in the spirit of the yuletide season will meet and be hosted at the deputy governor’s private residence in GRA, Benin City, opposite the Golf Course.
The deputy governor’s spokesperson, Benjamin Atu who made this known, said the newly established yearly meeting, is borne out of the need to appreciate members of the media profession for their consistency and steadfastness in standing for the truth and the sustenance of democracy by holding public Officers accountable.
He stated that, the interactive session will afford the media the opportunity to share ideas and make useful suggestions where necessary, as part of their social obligation, as thevwatch dog of the society.
Mr Atu said, the meeting time is slated for 8am adding that, it is strictly for journalists with valid means of identification.
