Point News247 reports that Nigeria Customs operatives working at the Seme Border have seized premium motor spirit valued at N6,974,750.00 from smugglers, who were trying to take the product out of Nigeria.
Controller of Customs at Seme Border, Bello Mohammed Jibo while showing the seized petroleum products to newsmen said the command is more prepared to tackle smuggling following recently provided automobiles and support by the Comptroller General of Customs.

who commended the doggedness, patriotism, dedication and high level of professionalism exhibited by his men.
He added that the new Landcruiser patrol vehicles (Buffalo) provided by the Management of the NCS has aided the operation of the Command because before now, some of the creeks and beaches were not accessible during patrols
While appreciating the Comptroller General of the NCS Col. Hammed Ibrahim Ali (rtd) and his management for equipping the Command with operational tools, the CAC said that in as much as the smugglers continue with their unpatriotic acts, his men were ready to match them and that seizures of PMS is a routine activity in which the tempo will be sustained
“In continuation of our efforts to suppress smuggling of the petroleum products within nooks and crannies of the Command, officers and men of the Seme Area Command on a routine patrol along the creeks within Seme and Badagry intercepted another large quantities of petroleum products in sacks. The arrest was made in the early hours of Wednesday 12 January 2022.
“After successful evacuation of the said item to the Command premises where examination was conducted1005 jerry cans of petroleum products in thirty 30 litre each, equivalent to 30,150 litres were discovered.
Abdullahi added that; “The duty paid value (DPV) is Six million, nine hundred and seventy four thousand, seven hundred and fifty naira N6,974,750.00 only”.
