Rivers State government on Saturday demolished homes at Elechi Phase I, Diobu, Port Harcourt, rendering thousands of people homeless.
Point News247 reports that the state government had earlier threatened to evacuate residents in some coastal communities in the state for allegedly harbouring criminals.
The move had been objected to by civil society organisations but the government ignored all cries and carried out the demolition.
