Point News247 reports that many residents of Tofar Magami district in Zamfara State’s Dansadau Local Government Area have reportedly fled their homes after being besieged by suspected terrorists.
The residents were allegedly attacked by terrorists because they were unable to pay the tax placed on them.
Many residents may have been slain, according to sources who talked to FIJ, but the exact number of deaths has yet to be determined.
Terrorists assaulted three villages in three distinct local government units in the state just days before the current incident.
During the attacks, 30 individuals were slain, including the head imam.
Terrorists are increasingly levying tolls on inhabitants of northern settlements, and if these levies are not paid, residents are reportedly flogged or driven away.
