The Buhari-led administration has confirmed approval for the reopening of four additional borders across Nigeria.
Point News247 reports that the federal government made this disclosure in a circular sent to customs formations and signed by Deputy Comptroller General (DCG) EI&I, E. I. Edorhe.
Most of Nigeria’s land borders were shut in a bid to stem the influx of illegal goods and curbing insecurity.
However in year 2020, the FG granted phased reopening of land borders including Seme, Mfum, Illela, among others.
The four additional borders include Idiroko border in (gun state, South West; Jibiya border post, Katsina,North West zone; Kamba border post, Kebbi state, North West and Ikom border state, Akwa Ibom, South South.
“Consequently, all customs formations and JPBTs are to take note and ensure that proper manning takes place in compliance with extant operational guidelines.
