ANLCA AFFAIRS: ASSOCIATION REGISTERS BOT MEMBERS WITH CAC

The Association of Nigerian licensed customs agents (ANLCA) has completed the registration of its BOARD members with corporation commission affairs (CAC).

This was contained in a press release made available to pointNews in lagos. ANLCA said all stakeholders, especially those in Maritime, Transportation, logistics chain, that:

“The ANLCA, after the expiration of the six (6) years tenure of the former Board of Trustees ( BOT) members whose tenure runs ( February 2014- February 2020) as enshrined,the association’s supreme constitution is an Annual General Meeting (AGM ) as stipulated by the ANLCA’s constitution in December 2020 to elect new board members.

“That at the AGM which he!d in Ciecembe? 2020 at Owerri, the Imo State was duly attended by aåi ANLCA members, where the eiection of the board members were conducted both virtua#y and physical.

“At the end of voting nine ( 9) prominent end duly registered members of ANLCA were elected into the board fot a period of six (6) years single tenure as contained in
ANLCA’s amended constitution,

“The nine (9) newly elected board members were, Dr Taiwo Afoiabi, Prince Ozo
Chukwura, Chief Kingsley Offor, Alhajä Shamsideen Awoteju, Igbaroola Eniola John Obi Azodo. Others are Alive, Abe! Timothy Avoi€ur:le and Chief lgwe

“it is worthy to note that , since their election , the association has be painstakingiv carrying cut procedurei processes of registering the
new board members with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC). Am happy to announce to you that, on the 7th September 2022, the ANLCA National Executive Committee working with the board and other members was able to get the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Registration of the new ANLCA board members.

The release revealed certificate specimen and names of the new board members as stated below

“With the new development , all stakeholders are advised to disregard any other group or individuals that are parading themselves as ANLCA board members. While we don’t want to over flogged the issues in our association being perpetrated by expelled members of the association, we want to assure Maritme stakeholders and indeed the general public and our members that the ANLCA leadership will never succumb to blackmail of mischief makers. But rather will follow the rule of law and stick to the Supreme constitution of ANLCA as a status symbol of all registered associations.

“The ANLCA NECOM is also aware of the expelled members and their cohorts circulating letters of introduction to Stakeholders for recognition.

“While we are still investigating the matter, we want to state that such letters do not and cannot have the backing of the ANLCA NECOM, but we promised to bring the impersonators
•to book in due course”

“In the spirit of reconciliation,this NECOM is ready to discuss with all aggrieved members inoder that we can move forward the association and in the interest of our numerous members suffering on the field”.

“I want to declare that,there is No Victor, No Vanquish, hence we should all put our hands on deck and jettison any selfish interest for the overall interest of our members and the association” the statement concluded.
