The World 100m hurdles champion and record holder (12.12), Tobi Amusan says she is thrilled to be cleared of allegation of an anti-doping rule violation and looks forward to defending her title in Budapest, Hungary.

The Athletics Integrity Unit, AIU, announced Thursday evening that the 26 year old has been cleared of the Whereabouts Failures charge slammed on her and that her provisional suspension has been lifted immediately.

‘A panel of the Disciplinary Tribunal, by majority decision, has today found that Tobi Amusan has not committed an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) of three Whereabouts Failures within a 12-month period,’ wrote the body created by World Athletics to manage all integrity issues – both doping and non-doping – for the sport of athletics.

Amusan thereafter took to her Facebook page to express her delight and appreciation to God.

‘This morning (evening in Nigeria) I found out that the Independent Tribunal that heard my case has ruled that I did not violate the whereabouts rules and as a result, I will not be sanctioned and none of my results will be precluded.

‘I am thrilled to put this behind me, and I look forward to defending my title at the World Championships. I generally have been and consistently will be an ally of clean sport.

‘To my five fingers; God is the greatest and genuinely appreciate you all for the support.., wrote the Nigerian on her Facebook page.’

Meanwhile, Amusan is expected to began her title defence on Tuesday evening when the event will commence with the first round heats.

The Nigerian will be looking for her sixth successful title defence across all championships and Games after her successful defence of her Nigeria, African Championships, African Games, Commonwealth Games and Diamond League titles
