In a major shift at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Bashir Jamoh has formally concluded his tenure as Director-General.

He handed over the reins to Chudi Ofordile, the Executive Director overseeing Finance and Administration, who will serve in an acting capacity until a new Director-General is appointed by President Tinubu.

Bashir Jamoh’s departure marks the end of a notable chapter in NIMASA’s leadership. During his tenure, he spearheaded various initiatives aimed at enhancing maritime safety and administration in Nigeria. His contributions have been recognized both domestically and internationally.

As Chudi Ofordile assumes the role of interim leader, he brings with him a wealth of experience in finance and administration within the maritime sector.

His appointment ensures continuity and stability within NIMASA as the agency awaits the appointment of a substantive Director-General by President Tinubu.

This transition underscores NIMASA’s commitment to maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness in fulfilling its mandate of ensuring maritime safety, security, and regulatory compliance in Nigerian waters
