According to him, “We will give our market women SMEs grants so they can strive in their small business. We would send a bill to the State House of Assembly very soon in that regard. ” ”
This bill he stressed is to checkmate and regulate Trade Unions that are making life difficult for small-scale businesses like tomatoes , sellers, Garri , and many other Ccommodities
He noted that he market Uunions can’t be an impediment to the growth of business at the grassroots. We will send the bill so we can regulate them such that when we put in 30 million Naira that will at least go for 30 women, each will get grant of N100.000 so they can trade with it. We will also create an environment for them in the market, and the unions who normally will take half of the money from them won’t become a clog in the wheel of progress. ” ”
He avarred that with the new local government autonomy, the LGA now has the power to regulate and implement such laws if the unions go against the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,”Elder Ogorugba assured
