The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved an extension of the remote work policy in the state to help mitigate the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.

This policy, initially introduced on February 28, permits employees on grade levels 01 to 14 to work from home two days a week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 are allowed one day per week.

The extension, effective from September 4, was detailed in a circular signed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, and reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the policy has positively impacted productivity across various state government ministries, departments, and agencies.

SaharaReporters reported on Tuesday that filling stations owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) had increased petrol price to over N850 per litre across the country.

It reported that the move by the outlets was in compliance with a directive given by the NNPCL management, compelling an immediate increment of fuel price from N568 to N855
