Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has announced his administration’s commitment to resuming impactful empowerment programs for widows in 2025.

This revelation came during a sermon at a Widows’ Empowerment Forum organized by the Founder of Calvary World Outreach, Apostle Chris Eruemulor, held at Boji-Boji Owa, in Ika North East Local Government Area of the state on Monday.

Governor Oborevwori, who based his sermon on Deuteronomy 16:11-14, emphasized the importance of widows in society, describing them as having a special place in God’s heart. He noted that caring for widows is not only a moral duty but also a way of pleasing God.

“The wellbeing of widows is a core project of my administration,” Governor Oborevwori declared. “We will continue to prioritize their empowerment in 2025, ensuring they are supported and cared for.”

He urged widows to keep Christ as their companion, remain holy, and protect their dignity against any form of societal degradation. “The Yuletide is a time to celebrate Christ’s birth, and identifying with widows during this season is a noble undertaking,” he added.

Governor Oborevwori also reminded widows of the power of prayer, acknowledging that their prayers were instrumental in his rise to office. “Do not stop praying for my administration,” he urged, stressing that their support plays a vital role in the success of his government.

The governor congratulated Apostle Eruemulor for his yearly distribution of food items to widows, commending his efforts to bring joy to the less privileged. He concluded by wishing all widows a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.

Earlier, Apostle Eruemulor shared that the annual empowerment initiative is a divine instruction from God to uplift widows.

He promised to continue the program and encouraged the women to embrace Christ as their best friend.
