NIMASA DG Commends Women’s Contributions to Maritime Industry on International Women’s Day

The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has praised women for their invaluable contributions to the development of the Nigerian maritime industry. In his message commemorating the 2025 International Women’s Day, Dr. Mobereola acknowledged the dedication and resilience of women in shaping the future of the sector

“I proudly join the world in celebrating International Women’s Day 2025, recognizing the invaluable contributions of women in the maritime industry and beyond,” he stated. “Their dedication and resilience continue to shape the future of the sector, driving growth, innovation, and inclusivity.”

Dr. Mobereola emphasized the importance of accelerating action towards a more sustainable, diverse, and equitable future for all. His statement aligns with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) efforts to promote gender equality and empower women in the maritime industry.

NIMASA has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting women in maritime, having inaugurated the Women in Maritime West and Central Africa (WIMOWCA) Nigeria chapter in 2024,The agency’s efforts aim to create a more inclusive and sustainable maritime industry in Nigeria.
