CBN, Finance Ministry, Technocrats to Convene at FiBOP Conference to Strategize for a $1 Trillion Economy in Lagos

As efforts to restore the Nigerian economy to a $1 trillion valuation gain momentum, indications are rife that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Ministry of Finance are poised to collaborate with technocrats and stakeholders across sectors at the upcoming 2025 National Finance and Business Online Publishers (FIBOP) conference.

Arrangements are in top gear to ensure that regulators and technocrats from across all sectors of the economy are present at the FiBO Conference scheduled to hold on October 18-19th, 2025 at Orchid Hotels Lekki, Lagos

Themed “Leveraging Technology Innovations, Tax Reforms, and Opportunities in Renewable Energy and Agriculture to Achieve $1 Trillion Economy”, the conference provides a platform to refine and enhance strategies that will bolster the economy.

More specifically, the conference aims at exploring ways to achieve a $1 trillion economy by diversifying operations beyond oil, adapting technology, fostering innovation, investing in renewable energy, insurance, agriculture, and services, and collaborating with the government to implement reforms and address macroeconomic challenges.
According to Charles Onwuatogwu, FiBOP, President, the conference is a “must attend” for leading technocrats operating in the economy.
“With the support and commitments from many companies and financial institutions, we are very optimistic that the conference will record huge success.
He averred that many high-profile dignitaries, including the Minister of Finance and coordinating Minister of the economy, Mr.Wale Edun, Minister of Environment, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, Chairman/CEO of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Director General of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Commissioner for Insurance and CEO of the National Insurance Commission, and CEOs of Fintech companies and renewable energy firms amongst others.

Chairman, Conference Planning committee,Mr Godson Ikoro said:
“the Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP) 2025 Conference aims to achieve several key outcomes, among which are: a clear plan for securing successful mutual accountability and investment plans, which could be crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth and development, particularly in areas of technology innovations, tax reforms, renewable energy, and agriculture.

The conference will also provide networking opportunities for attendees to connect with industry leaders, policymakers, and other stakeholders, potentially leading to new partnerships and collaborations.

The conference will provide a platform for experts to share knowledge and best practices in finance, business, and online publishing, which could help improve the overall quality of economic reporting and decision-making.

It will also provide growth strategies to achieve a $1 trillion economy by diversifying operations beyond oil, adapting technology, fostering innovation, investing in renewable energy, insurance, agriculture, and services”, he said.
