The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) vows to complete the five-star Radisson Hotel and Conference Centre in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, by December 2026, promising a tourism boom for the Niger Delta.
Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe shared this timeline during a project tour and workshop at the Nigerian Content Tower in Swali, Yenagoa, hosting executives from South Africa’s Edison Corporation (Radisson partner) and contractor Megastar Technical and Construction Company.
“This project is critical to the Board, Yenagoa, Bayelsa, and Nigeria,” Ogbe said. “With this hotel functional by year-end, Bayelsa will see tourism, that’s one of my dreams.” Appointed ES in December 2024, he pledged daily oversight, praising the teams’ quality and pace while urging on-time delivery.
Most hurdles, markups, scope, financing, and contracts, are resolved, he added, ensuring smooth progress.
Radisson’s Global Promise Edison CEO Vivian Reddy called the NCDMB partnership a game-changer: “Radisson Yenagoa will put this place on the world map.” He assured world-class standards from construction to furnishing, noting global searches for the hotel will drive visitors and tourism.
Sealing the deal took over 1.5 years and thousands of documents, but Reddy hailed it as a vote of confidence. A pioneering South African investor in Nigeria since 1999, he lauded Ogbe as a “great visionary” whose dream will yield the region’s best hotel.
