Comptroller‑General in charge of Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives, Assistant Comptroller‑General Eghosa Joy Edelduok, held a high‑level stakeholder engagement at the Operational Headquarters of the Oyo/Osun Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service. The meeting brought together excise traders, factory managers, and key partners to discuss ways to enhance compliance, overcome operational bottlenecks, and boost revenue generation.
Speaking at the event, ACG Edelduok lauded excise factories for their key role in the Service’s revenue architecture and expressed appreciation for the stakeholders’ adherence to excise rules. She urged them to maintain their support and partnership, stressing that their continued cooperation will be central to the Command and the Service exceeding their set revenue objectives.
She further acknowledged the Oyo/Osun Area Command’s strong performance, noting that the Command contributes roughly one‑third of the Service’s overall revenue. She urged excise‑factory officers to remain focused, proactive, and committed to delivering the Command’s annual targets.
The Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, welcomed the committee initiative led by ACG Edelduok, instituted by the Comptroller‑General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, fnipr, psc (+), and the Management Team. He described the forum as a valuable avenue for sustained dialogue, improved compliance, and joint problem‑solving on issues affecting excise businesses.
The engagement concluded with an interactive segment where stakeholders raised concerns, sought clarifications on regulatory issues, and shared practical challenges confronting their operations. The Service assured them of ongoing collaboration and institutional support to create a more predictable, compliant, and performance‑oriented excise ecosystem.
