The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated 50 ballistic helmets, 50 bulletproof vests and 100 raincoats to the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT as part of efforts to strengthen operational capacity and improve security across Lagos State and its maritime domain.
The donation was presented on 11 August 2026 during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the LSSTF, led by Executive Secretary Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, to the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, Commodore A Adams-Aliu. Ogunsan said the intervention was intended to bridge identified gaps within the state’s security architecture and enhance the capacity of security agencies to safeguard lives and property, particularly as Lagos approaches a sensitive election period.
Commodore Adams-Aliu expressed appreciation for the visit and acknowledged the Fund’s contributions to strengthening security efforts across Lagos State. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to maintaining strong relationships with government institutions, sister agencies and other relevant stakeholders in support of national security, noting that regular engagement and timely information sharing would further enhance the ability of security agencies to respond effectively to threats along the state’s waterways and maritime approaches.
The LSSTF, established in 2007 as a public–private partnership, sources resources to improve the operational capacity of security agencies in Lagos, including the police, army, navy, air force and other security formations. The Fund has previously donated vehicles, protective kits and other equipment to various security agencies in the state as part of its mandate to facilitate safety and security in Lagos.
