FiBOP 2026 Annual Conference To X-ray Nigeria’s $1Trillion Agenda In Lagos.

The Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP), the professional body of business and financial journalists in Nigeria has announced the hosting of its 2026 Conference scheduled for Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Orchids Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.

 

The 2-day economic confab themed : “Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Potential: Taxation, Industry, Insurance, Fintech, Trade & Investment as Catalysts for Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Vision” will serve as a high-level platform to interrogate policies, spotlight private sector opportunities, and propose practical solutions that can accelerate growth across key sectors.

Discussions will focus on the critical drivers of economic transformation namely , Taxation – smarter revenue mobilization and business-friendly fiscal reforms; scaling manufacturing, SMEs and industrialization for job creation and Insurance, deepening penetration and expanding financial inclusion .

 

Furthermore, discussions will also centre on Fintech, driving digital payments, innovation and regulatory alignment; boosting exports, intra-African trade and port efficiency and Investment, atttracting local and foreign capital for infrastructure and growth.

 

The conference comes at a pivotal moment as the Federal Government pushes bold reforms to reposition Nigeria for global competitiveness to hit the $1 trillion economy target.

 

Expected to convene at the conference are regulators, policymakers, CEOs, investors, development partners. heads of government agencies, and other key stakeholders.

 

Chairman of the FiBOP Conference Planning Committee, Barnabas Esiet, said the conference would create a platform for stakeholders to examine Nigeria’s economic direction and develop practical recommendations for strengthening growth, investment and national development.

 

He said the planning committee was focused on ensuring that the event generated meaningful conversations and actionable outcomes, particularly on economic reforms, financial inclusion, enterprise development, job creation and the role of credible journalism in supporting informed decision-making.

 

Speaking on the conference, FiBOP President, Charles Onwuatogwu stated

“As business and financial journalists, we are committed to amplifying conversations that shape Nigeria’s economic future. FiBOP 2026 will bridge the gap between policy and practice, serving as catalyst to unearth, deepen and strengthen the nation’s potentials and provide actionable insights for achieving the $1 trillion economy vision by 2030 .”_
