The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, inspected the Customs Training College, Goron Dutse, Kano, to assess the institution’s preparedness for the 2026 Customs Basic Training Programme.

The inspection formed part of the Nigeria Customs Service’s (NCS) preparations for the commencement of the 2025/2026 Recruitment Training, with the CGC assessing the College’s facilities, ongoing projects, logistics, and general readiness to accommodate the incoming recruits.

During the visit, Adeniyi was received by the Zonal Coordinator, Zone B, Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs Nsikan Umoh; Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit Zone B, Aminu Sule; Commandant of the Customs Training College, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Umar Atiku; and other principal officers and heads of units.

Speaking during the inspection, Adeniyi reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to providing the necessary facilities, logistics, and conducive environment required for the effective training and capacity development of the new recruits. He stressed the importance of ensuring that the College is adequately equipped to deliver professional and effective basic training that would prepare the recruits for their responsibilities within the NCS.

In his remarks, the Commandant briefed the CGC on the College’s activities, ongoing developments, and preparations underway to receive the incoming recruits.

The CGC subsequently toured various facilities within the institution to assess their state of readiness.
