Preparations are in top gear for the 2026 Annual Conference and Awards of the Finance and Business Online Publishers Association (FiBOP), as leading figures and key institutions in Nigeria’s financial, business, regulatory and media sectors set to grace the highly anticipated event.

The conference, scheduled to hold on October 17–18, 2026, at the Orchids Hotel, Lekki, Lagos, will have the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE), Dr. Muda Yusuf, as event Chairman and the Director General and CEO of Nigeria Insurers Association, Mrs Bola Odukale as Guest Speaker.

Also expected as a special guest is the Chairman of the NGX Group, Alhaji Dr. Umaru Kwairanga, alongside other distinguished personalities drawn from the public and private sectors.

Themed “Unlocking Nigeria’s Economic Potential: Taxation, Industry, Insurance, Fintech, Trade & Investment as Catalysts for Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Vision,” the conference will provide a platform for stakeholders to examine critical issues shaping Nigeria’s economic growth and investment outlook.

Several prominent organisations have also confirmed their participation in the event, including the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Zenith Bank and Polaris Bank among others.

According to the organisers, the growing support from major institutions underscores the relevance of the conference to ongoing conversations around economic reforms, private-sector development, digital transformation, financial inclusion, insurance, capital market growth, taxation and investment.

The FiBOP Annual Conference is expected to bring together policymakers, regulators, business leaders, investors, financial experts, media professionals and other stakeholders to deliberate on practical strategies for unlocking Nigeria’s economic potential.

The event will also feature the FiBOP Awards, which will recognise individuals and organisations that have distinguished themselves through outstanding contributions to Nigeria’s economy, business development, financial services, capital market, technology and other critical sectors.

Speaking on the preparations, the FiBOP leadership said the association is committed to organising a conference that goes beyond discussions to promote meaningful engagement among the media, government, regulators and the private sector.

The association expressed appreciation to the institutions and distinguished personalities that have accepted invitations to attend, noting that their participation would add significant value to the conference.

FiBOP further urged stakeholders in the financial, business and economic sectors to look forward to two days of robust discussions, networking and recognition of excellence as the association continues in its efforts to promote responsible business journalism and economic development through accurate and balanced publishing.
