Ozoro Ward 2 in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State has set a target of securing at least 7,000 votes from its over 14,000 registered voters for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.

The target was announced at a strategic meeting of party leaders and stakeholders in the ward, aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and consolidating support for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The meeting was hosted by business mogul, political leader and National Secretary of the Nigerian Hotel Association, Prince Amos Uyo, at his country home in Ozoro on Friday, November 6, 2026.

Held a day after the flag-off of the Delta APC campaign in Ozoro, the meeting brought together the ward chairman, ward secretary, unit chairmen and secretaries, members of the ward executive committee and other party stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for securing victory for the APC in the January 16 and February 6, 2027 elections.

Addressing the gathering, Uyo expressed confidence that the ward could achieve the target, arguing that the combined electoral strength of the PDP and APC in the 2023 governorship and House of Assembly elections provided a solid basis for the projection.

He recalled that the PDP polled 1,375 votes while the APC secured 1,197 votes in the ward during the 2023 elections, noting that the political realignment that has brought both political structures together under the APC had significantly improved the party’s electoral prospects.

According to him, the challenge before the party leaders was to translate the new political alignment into votes through effective grassroots mobilisation, unity and sustained engagement with residents.

Uyo urged ward and unit executives to strengthen their structures by holding regular meetings, maintaining contact with voters and taking the party’s message to households across Erovie and Etevie quarters.

He also emphasised the need for door-to-door campaigns, stressing that party members must engage voters directly and convince them of the need to support the APC and its candidates in the forthcoming elections.

He assured the unit executives of his support and that of other stakeholders, adding that a timetable would be drawn up to enable party leaders to participate in and support meetings across the various units.

Uyo reminded the gathering that elections were ultimately won at the polling units, urging the executives to take their responsibilities seriously and remain organised and proactive throughout the campaign.

He reaffirmed the party’s determination to deliver what has become its rallying message, APC 5/5, in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and all other APC candidates.

Also speaking, the member representing Isoko North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Bernard Odior, challenged the ward to emerge as the highest-performing electoral ward in Isoko North in the 2027 elections.

Odior said a strong electoral performance would place Ozoro Ward 2 in a better position to negotiate for political appointments, development projects and other benefits for the community.

He urged party leaders to sustain regular unit meetings and intensify door-to-door mobilisation to attract more supporters to the APC ahead of the elections.

The ward chairman, Mr Gospel Adhekegba, in his remarks, charged stakeholders to remain committed to the collective task of delivering victory for all APC candidates, expressing confidence that the ward had the numerical strength and political capacity to meet its 3,500-vote target.

Among those present were the APC candidate for the Isoko North Constituency in the 2023 House of Assembly election, Dr Michael Enahoro; former chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Comrade Emmanuel Adhe; and other party leaders and stakeholders.

The meeting ended with a renewed commitment by the ward leadership to strengthen party unity, deepen grassroots mobilisation and work collectively towards securing an overwhelming victory for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
