LAGOS LG ELECTION: IGBOKWE EXPRESSES DISMAY OVER LOW TURNOUT

All progressives Congress(APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe has expressed satisfaction over the conduct of the Lagos state local government election held on Saturday, July 24th .

Giving his assessment of the election to journalists,Igbokwe said his regret is the v 17years charged the winners of the election to work their promise to the people.

“Let them go and work,if you have asked for something and it’s giving to you, you are asking for a position and it is given to you,you have to go there and prove yourself, they should go and prove themselves”

When asked what the APC chieftain is doing to motivate the Igbo Community, Igbokwe said he has been involved in mobilizing them to meet the incoming chairman and the vice chairman to mobilize them to vote.

He also said other areas like surulere, IkareIkate,Coker Aguda he went physically to monitor and mobilize the igbos to cast their votes.

Igbokwe however wondered why some youths who have voters card do not go out and vote but always use election day to play football advising that, they need to turn a new leaf for a better Nigeria.
