The highly cerebral and effective Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Idowu Owohunwa ceased to be in the CP rank following his decoration ceremony with the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) rank by the acting Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun at the Force HQ, Abuja.
Trek Africa Newspaper can recall that the new AIG Idowu Owohunwa took the office of Commissioner of Police in Lagos on 14th February this year and has actively played immense role in ensuring safety and security in Lagos State.
Before becoming CP of Lagos State Police Command, AIG Idowu Owohunwa was the Principal Staff Officer to the former Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, a role which positioned him to monitor policing issues across all the 36 States of the Federation and the FCT on daily basis.
Before then, Owohunwa had served as the Personal Assistant to IGP Solomon Arase (Rtd); Head of the Special Investigations Unit, FCID, Abuja; Head of the Security and Enforcement Unit of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, Abuja; AC (Operations), Katsina State Police Command; AC (Administration), Zone 7 Police Headquarters, Abuja, and Assistant Director, (Department of Internal Security) Office of the National Security Adviser, Abuja
