Delta state governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has resolved to hand down a transparently conducted election in all tiers of the People’s Democratic party’s election.
The PDP chairman Isoko North Lga, Delta state, Dcn Prince Godwin OGorugba disclosed this on Sunday after the PDP primaries election for the house of representatives, Isoko Federal constituency.
Prince Ogorugba commended the selection process which he described as free and fair, adding that delegates voted according to their conscience and devoid of any coercion.
He stated that the upcoming senatorial elections must take a leaf from the house of representatives process, and should be conducted transparently.
” The Senatorial election must be transparently done the way the assembly and house of representatives were done, even the governorship. His Excellency Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has said he wants to bequeath a transparently conducted election in all tiers, from assembly to the governorship, so I don’t expect anything less”.
Ogorugba noted that the election was a family affair and the results were accepted in good faith by members.
