Chairman Hospital Management Board in Delta State Dr. Paul Oweh has disclosed that the hardship in Nigeria was caused by President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government when he unilaterally removed fuel subsidy without plans to mitigate the resultant tough challenges it would bring.

Dr. Oweh, in this interview with Pointnews247.com, it said the hardship was occasioned by the mismanagement at the federal level.

“The first thing I will say is contrary to whatever anybody thinks, the hardship is occasioned largely by mismanagement at the federal level, and now people will always say things like what about your Governor and local Government chairman, we have a saying that when the head has gone wrong what can the tail do”.
According to him, “If you look at government structure today, the centre still calls the shots. President Tinubu came and said Subsidy is gone and then throws the whole nation in disarray and inflation, hitting the roof top. ”
Consequently, Dr.Oweh insisted that there are no mitigating plans before the announcement, and so they are now grouping in the dark, as Naira has become almost worthless. ”

On the contrary, people may ask, “What is the state governor doing?” What’s the local government doing? If I may ask,’ What’s your family doing. If you were earning even N50.000 before, the money is worth less than N20,000 right now .The truth is that we have mismanaged at the federal level, and I may not be able to speak for other states, but for my state, Delta. ”

Interestingly, Dr.Oweh so far scored the Delta State Governor a pass mark for doing the best he could despite the bad situation at the federal level.
“I can tell you that with this mess the federal government has brought on us, we are doing our very best, the People’s Democratic Party PDP government under governor Sheriff is doing the best under the circumstance we’ve find ourselves”.

“He has been bearly a year now, and the size of progress from Gov Sheffi are glaring. I will want to let you know, they say politics is local everywhere so let me start from Mu Village”.

On road infrastructures, Dr. Oweh said, “You witnessed the road we commissioned in my village under one year, and that’s a massive intervention in my community. I should also let you know quickly that the second road project Phrase 2 has been approved and it’s ongoing.
What about what’s going on in Warri as Julius Berger is transforming the whole arena to a fantastic modern city. This is governments at work at the state and local government level. ” Oweh concluded.
