Maritime Workers Contribute More to Nigeria’s Economy, Says Bunu

President General of Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) Comrade Francis Bunu Abi has underscored the significance of maritime workers to the industry, describing them as the lifeblood of the sector.

Comrade Bunu made this assertion during a courtesy visit by executive members of Association Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) led by the Vice president Vera Osokpo.

He emphasized that maritime workers are dedicated professionals who contribute significantly to the economy, working tirelessly to advance the economic well-being of Nigerians
The AMJON delegation congratulated Comrade Francis Bunu, the newly elected President-General of MWUN as AMJON executives expressed solidarity with Comrade Bunu’s dynamic leadership and pledged to collaborate with him to support the maritime sector.

They praised Comrade PG as a press-friendly labour leader who values straightforward communication.
MWUN PG thanked AMJON for their visit, promising his continued support for journalists and emphasizing the importance of synergy between the Union and the Press.
He urged journalists to practice their profession with fairness and justice, balancing their reportage and avoiding unnecessary sensationalism.
Comrade Bunu thanked AMJON for the visit and assured them that the Union’s door is always open to strengthening their working relationship
