Delta Govt sends delegation to NDA 72 RC, Celebrate Cadets Passing Out Parade

The Delta State Government has concluded arrangement to send a powerful delegation to the 72 Regular Course Passing Out Parade and Commissioning of Officers at the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna.

A statement on Wednesday by the Director General of the Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said governor Sheriff Oborevwori, mandated the State Awareness Creation Committee for Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services, to ensure that the state is felt at the NDA Passing out parade.

He assured that in full compliance with Governor Oborevwori’s directives, the 7-man delegation will depart Asaba on Thursday 25th September, to cheer up the 24 Cadets of Delta State origin, who are among those to be Commissioned as Officers on Saturday 27th September at NDA Kaduna by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

The Bureau Chief who is also the Spokesperson of the State Committee on Awareness Creation for Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services, further disclosed that the delegation led by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barrister ThankGod Trakiriowei Harry, is expected to pay a courtesy visit on the Chief of Army Staff in Abuja, before proceeding to Kaduna to attend the Cadets Passing Out Parade.

He said the Delta State delegation will after the commissioning ceremony, host the 24 newly commissioned Officers and their parents to a special dinner in Kaduna, courtesy of the State Government, saying that Delta stand to benefit in multifaceted ways as they move up individually in rank throughout their serve to our dear country, Nigeria.

Dr Oghenesivbe stated that the 24 Cadets cut across the three military services – Army, Navy and the Air Force, as follows; Short Service Commission (SSC) Cadets 7, Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Cadets 3, while Regular Commission include; Army 9, Airforce 4 and Navy 1, all of whom are in high spirit for the passing out parade on Saturday.

He gave the names of the State’s delegation to the NDA event to include; the leader of the delegation, Barrister ThankGod Trakiriowei Harry (Commissioner for Youth Development), Dr (Barr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe (Director General, Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation), Mr Theophilus Chukwudi Aguonye (Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Political and Security Services), Dr Ngozi Mogbolu (Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth Development), Chief Alfred Origbo (Secretary, Delta State Traditional Rulers Council), Rev Okonye Cyril (Representative of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN), and Mr Emmanuel Egogo (Directorate of Political and Security Services).

“His Excellency, the Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has graciously mandated the State Awareness Creation Committee on Youth Enlistment into Military and Paramilitary services to send a Seven-Man delegation to NDA Passing Out Parade in Kaduna.
“The move is to celebrate the 24 Cadets of Delta State origin who are among other Cadets to be Commissioned as Officers by President Bola Tinubu on Saturday 27th September.
“Enlistments into military and Paramilitary services is in line with the job and wealth creation policy enshrined in the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda, and the state government would continue to do the needful to fully utilize her quota in all military Enlistments and NDA admission.
“While in Kaduna, the committee members shall host the officers and their parents to a special dinner, present gifts to the 24 officers on behalf of the state government, and the governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
“It is hoped that the kind gesture of His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, will further encourage youth in Delta to apply for Admission into NDA, Navy and Airforce Direct Short Services, as well as participate actively in all military and Paramilitary enlistments/recruitments, going forward,” the statement added.
