The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has launched a two‑day capacity‑building training for security operatives across Lagos State, aimed at strengthening inter‑agency collaboration and improving operational efficiency. The exercise, which began on 25 March 2026 and runs through 26 March, brings together personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps, and other security partners.
Delivering the opening address, the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, described the training as a strategic platform to build human capacity, deepen mutual trust, and reinforce coordination among agencies. He commended the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Olusola Sanwo‑Olu, for his consistent support to the LSSTF and the broader security architecture of the state, stressing that the initiative is designed to make Lagos safer and more secure for residents and businesses.
The training programme is scheduled to continue in batches over the next ten months, with the Fund urging participants to fully utilise the sessions to sharpen their skills, adopt best practices, and foster a culture of joint operations. Dr. Ogunsan noted that such collaborative training will help reduce friction, overlap, and operational gaps between agencies, leading to a more cohesive and responsive security framework.
The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Adedotun Keshinro, appreciated the Governor and the LSSTF leadership for pioneering the initiative, calling it a “bright” step toward professionalising security operations in Lagos. He said joint capacity trainings like this would equip operatives with the intellectual tools required to perform their statutory duties more effectively, without unnecessary rivalry or duplication of efforts. Keshinro also thanked the various service commanders and the media for their continued support to the Corps since his assumption of office in Lagos.
