The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, will serve as Special Guest of Honour at this year’s ENERGY TIMES Award in Lagos, where he will also receive an award alongside other key figures in Nigeria’s energy sector. The ceremony, organised by the Lagos‑based energy publication, is set to recognise individuals and organisations whose work has significantly shaped the country’s power and oil and gas landscape in 2025.

Among the awardees are the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Power Generating Companies (APGC), Dr. Joy Ogaji, who will receive the Amazon of the Nigerian Power Sector Award for her impact on the Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), and Gombe State Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, who will be honoured as Energy Governor of the Year for advancing rural and urban energy infrastructure in the state.

Corporate institutions such as PANA Holdings, Momas Group, and Egbin Power Limited will be recognised as Local Content Company of the Year, Innovative/Technology Leadership Award, and Electricity Company of the Year, respectively. Renaissance Africa Energy Company’s Managing Director, Engr. Tony Attah, will receive the *CEO of the Year Award*, while Akinwole Omoboriowo II, Chairman of Genesis Energy, will be honoured as Man of the Year (Africa).

The event will also recognise Dr. Diran Fawibe, Chairman of International Energy Services, with the Oil Sector Icon of the Year Award, and Engr. Kola Balogun, Chairman of MOMAS Group, for his technology leadership and the development of a €3 million TVET centre for electro‑technology in Ogun State. Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Biodun Ogunleye, is expected at the event as Special Guest of Honour and recipient of the Excellence Award.

Other awardees include Engr. Aliyu Abubakar, Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA); Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, General Manager, Corporate Communications, NCDMB; and Mr. Kennie Obateru, former Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs, NNPC Limited. Now in its ninth year, ENERGY TIMES has grown from a weekly to a bi‑weekly publication, with offices in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, and a subscriber base of 1,825 across Nigeria and abroad.
