Nigerian students received hands-on training in digital skills, artificial intelligence, online safety, insurance, and financial literacy at the third edition of the FIBOP Youth Capacity Building and Empowerment Programme held June 4, 2026.
The event, organized by the Finance and Business Online Publishers Association, took place at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Alausa, Ikeja. Charles Onwuatogwu, President of FIBOP, opened the event by highlighting education’s critical role in shaping the next generation. He stressed that providing young people with relevant technical and financial competencies drives both individual success and national progress.
Attendees displayed notable enthusiasm, particularly when discussing artificial intelligence. Students repeatedly sought clarification on how AI technologies can create job opportunities, solve real-world problems, and expand their knowledge base, reflecting deep curiosity about emerging technologies.
The programme covered five key areas: digital skills development, AI awareness, online safety protocols, insurance fundamentals, and financial literacy. These topics position FIBOP as a key player in preparing Nigerian youth for a technology-centered economy.
