Clearing Agents under Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) have asked Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) to payfor the payment of over N200billion demurrage charges incurred by freight forwarders at the ports. This happened due to the suspension handed down to GTB by the Nigeria Customs Service for alleged non-remittance of import duty collected on behalf of the federal government. Operatives of Zone ‘A’ of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service have intercepted and seized two units of tankers laden 80,055 liters of substandard Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), also known as diesel in Ijebu Ode area of Ogun State . The Supreme Court has declared Chukwuma Odii Ifeanyi as the authentic governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi state. In a unanimous decision by a five-man panel of justices on Wednesday,the apex court, vacated the judgement of the Court of Appeal that ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Senator Joseph Obinna Ogba as the party’s flag-bearer for the 2023 gubernatorial election. The panel which was headed by Justice Amina Augie, held that the appeal marked SC/CV/ 939/2022, which Ifeanyi lodged before the apex court, was meritorious and deserved to succeed.
