Suspected thugs on Friday evening invaded, invaded a court of Appeal in Benin City, Edo State capital, chased away court workers and carted away several documents. Reports says lawyers had approached the court to seek for redress following a judgment of the State High Court on issues pertaining the crisis rocking the Peoples’ Democratic Party in Edo State. VIN Valuation Policy: NCS deploys Policy on Vehicles after Harmonization of grey areas
After over a month of suspension of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) valuation policy on imported vehicles and subsequent harmonization of grey areas including depreciation value . The Nigeria Customs Service is deploying the controversial policy with immediate effect. The Service disclosed this on Thursday at the Customs flagship Command in Apapa during a stakeholders sensitization workshop to showcase the procedures and workability of the harmonized VIN policy. In compliance with the Federal Government directives aimed at ensuring food security in the country, Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has toughened vigilance at its borders to checkmate any attempt to smuggle out food produce. In a press statement signed by the public relations officer SC Nasiru Manga on Wednesday, the Command intercepted one trailer fully loaded with bags of grains.The outbound Daf truck with Reg. Alleged Treasonable Felony: Court strikes out FG’s amended charge against Nmadi Kanu
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Wednesday, struck out the amended six-count treasonable felony charge the Federal Government preferred against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu. Trial Justice Binta Nyako struck out the charge, after it was withdrawn by the Prosecution counsel, Mr. K. E. Kaswe. Lagos State Government has directed security operatives to enforce ban on commercial motorcycles, popularly known as Okada, as it imposes fresh ban to curtail the unruly activities of motorcyclists in the state.
