JUST IN: Customs’ Western Marine Command Gets New Head As Comptroller Umar Resumes

Point News247 reports that Comptroller A. A. Umar has assumed duty as the substantive Customs Area Controller (CAC) of Nigeria Customs Service, Western Marine Command (WMC).

Umar took over from Deputy Comptroller E.O Ochiba on Monday.

Comptroller Umar was among the Comptrollers who were recently redeployed on the 8 February 2022 by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd).

Spokesman of the command, ASCI Isah Sulaiman disclosed in a statement made available to newsmen.

During a brief handing over ceremony at the WMC Headquarters Ibafon-Apapa, Lagos, the outgoing Ag. CAC welcomed and congratulated the substantive Area Controller for his posting.

He appreciated the officers and men for their unwavering support and cooperation throughout his tenure and urged them to accord maximum support and cooperation to the new Area Controller.

In his remark, Comptroller AA Umar urged the personnel to rededicate themselves to their statutory responsibilities.

He charged them to be disciplined and work according to the codes, procedures, departmental instructions and laws as enshrine in the Customs and Excise Management Act Cap C45 2004 as amended.

Until his appointment, Comptroller Umar was the Comptroller Discipline at the Customs Headquarters, Abuja.
