The death has been announced of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.
Point News247 reports that the Alaafin died in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness.
The royal ruler was 83 years old at the time of his death.
A source confirmed that the Alaafin died at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ekiti state, South West Nigeria.
