Ever conscious of the need for continuous education and self development, a former President of the Association of Maritime Journalists of Nigeria (AMJON) and publisher of “The Journal Magazine”, Ismail Aniemu has bagged additional degrees to boost his resume.
Point News247 reports that Aniemu has just obtained a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) and Masters Degree in Transport Management (specialising in logistics) from the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, Oyo State.
Governor of Oyo State Mr. Seyi Makinde and other dignitaries were at the convocation ceremony in which Aniemu and other graduands were conferred with their certificates at the weekend.
The convocation ceremony, which ought to have held in year 2020, according to the school authority was postponed indefinitely due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the nationwide lockdown.
The self motivated Aniemu said his certification as a specialist in logistics sector will be setting the tone for his incursion into the world of intermodal transportation.
These were his words; “These qualifications will be setting the tone for my incursion from hundred percent media practice into the world of intermodal transportation – looking at land, rail, air, pipeline and water transportation.
“I am convinced that when state and non state actors in Africa get transportation right in safe, fast and cost effective ways(not forgetting security of passengers and goods), the dream of intra African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) will manifest faster than anticipated with copious impacts”.
