The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the killing of Deborah Samuel, a female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
An Online News Platform had reported that the female student was burnt to death by her colleagues for allegedly insulting Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The state police spokesman, Sanusi Abubakar, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Thursday evening, said the killers of the student removed her from the security room where she was hidden by the school authorities, killed her and burnt the building.
Abubakar further stated that the students banded together with miscreants and barricaded the Sokoto/Jega road.
The PPRO said the command have arrested two students in connection with the gruesome murder of Deborah.
He added that the suspects in the viral video on Twitter will be brought to book soon.
