Former President of the United States Of America, Donald Trump has pleaded not guilty to the Four-Count Charges levelled against him.

Pointnews247 reports that Trump pleaded not guilty that he knowingly and repeatedly lied while attempting to overturn his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

The four counts include conspiracy to defraud the US, conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding, obstruction of an official proceeding and conspiracy against the rights of citizens

The first count refers to alleged attempts to obstruct the collection, counting and certification of votes.

The second and third deal with alleged attempts to obstruct the certification of electoral college votes in the US Congress on 6 January 2021, which culminated in the Capitol riot.

The fourth charge is about alleged attempts to interfere with citizens’ right to vote and to have their votes counted.

The former president will be released on very minimal conditions, which include not being allowed to communicate with anyone known to be a witness in the case unless through an attorney.

The next hearing in the case has been set for August 28, just five days after the first Republican presidential primary debate, underscoring the extraordinary times where the front-runner for the 2024 nomination has an unprecedented federal court schedule.
