Management, Staff and colleagues of the Corps have been urged to focus on excellence rather than challenges of life.
The Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, said this while Commending participants for completing the course and wished them well in the service.
The Public Relations Officer( PRO ), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC ), Deputy Superintendent of Corps Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide has emerged the overall best winner, during the graduation ceremony of the participants of the Maiden Staff Course 01/23 of NSCDC Command and Staff College, Lamingo, Jos, on Monday, 14th August, 2023
The course focused, on Staff Duties, Administration and Logistics, Geo Politics, Humanitarian, Crisis and Disaster Management, Intelligence, General Studies and Investigation. Other physical activities were also undergone by course participants.
The Maiden Staff Course, lasted, for three months, with rigorous academic team and physical training activities to build up and prepare participants as change agents in the service.
Aparticipants also visited the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Mountain School, Shere Hills, for about 12days, where they learnt team work, team building and other leadership qualities germaine to their career development and progression. The Civil Defence PRO, Lagos State Command’s ‘Gowon Section,’ emerged as the second overall best at Shere Hills in Course SH1,257 ( Special Mixed Course ).
The graduands of the Staff Course presented for approval, by the Registrar of the College, Deputy Commandant of Corps Pogu Dawa were two hundred and eighty (280), who satisfied all academic requirements to enable obtain certificates and wear their dual insignias from the College and the Mountain School, Shere Hills.
The NSCDC, Lagos PRO, also emerged as the Commandant General’s Overall best award winner, College Overall best in academics, Adetunji Adeseye award for CG’s Overall best and College Award for Dedication ( Legacy Project ).
Abolurin however commended the giant strides of the Commandant General, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, in the area of training and retraining, credible and actionable intelligence gathering, Capacity in the fight against oil pipeline vandalism and the protection of national assets and infrastructure, since his assumption of office.
The CG has made history in the annals of the Corps’ with Staff Course 01/23, whose participants I believe will remain eternally grateful, dedicated and loyal to the service of the nation through the Corps

Outstanding participants were honoured, with certificates, prizes and awards, for their impactful roles and contributions to Knowledge and humanity during the course. Eight graduands of the Staff Course also emerged winners of overseas training after a ballot sampling was transparently conducted at the event.
The pioneer Commandant of the College, Assistant Commandant General David Urbanus Bille, a strategic and seasoned administrator par excellence, while delivering his speech, also took time to elucidate the significance, of the College viz a viz the numerous achievements of the Commandant General, NSCDC, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, PhD, mni, OFR, in the area of training and retraining and career progression and development of personnel.
The CG, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, further re-iterated, in his maiden graduation speech that the Corps will continue to make the government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the good people of our nation proud, in line with its mandate and the general security and safety of the nation. He charged participants to internalize all they have learnt and become the real change agents of the service .
