NIWA Commiserates victims of boat accident in Niger, Adamawa States

The Management of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) wish to commiserate people and government of Niger and Adamawa States and also families of those who lost their loved ones in Boats Mishap in Mokwa area of Niger State and Njuwa River in Yola South of Adamawa State.

In a press release on Tuesday signed by
Jibril Darda’u GM corporate affairs department stated that the accidents which is avoidable was due to overloading and non-wearing of Life Jackets by the boat operators and the passengers despite NIWA’s several efforts in distribution of Life Jackets and sensitization on safety on our water ways.

NIWA will not rest on its responsibility by ensuring that boat operators and passengers comply with the cardinals of safety on our water ways in Nigeria
