MMA Customs rakes in N74.2bn revenue, Intercepts N3.55b Tramadol

The Murtala Muhammed Airport Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Wednesday, said it has collected the sum of N74, 286,707, 443.01 from import between January to October 2023.
In comparison to the revenue collected same period in 2022 which stood at N60b.
This was disclosed in a press release by Ogagbor Victor, Superintendent of Customs, Public Relations Officer, MMAC
The Customs Area Controller of the Command, Comptroller Muhammed Yusuf disclosed that the Command also intercepted N3.55 billion Tramadol tablets imported into the country from Pakistan and India.
“The shipment was intercepted on the suspicion of exceeding the approved threshold by the Federal Government. The cumulative Duty Paid Value (DPV) of the aforementioned items stood Three Billion, five hundred and fifty six million, eight hundred and two thousand, nine hundred and forty two naira, eighteen kobo (₦ 3,556, 802,942.18k). It has been scheduled for handing over today during this press briefing.
In the area of stakeholder’s engagement, The CAC said the Command has maintained its open-door policy and resolved a lot of issues of common interest with concerned stakeholders.
“Let me also at this juncture thank our critical Stakeholders, Sister Agencies and the Media for their collaborative efforts and synergy while carrying out our statutory mandate in the state.

Yusuf urged Officers and men of the Command to remain focused and steadfast in discharging their assigned responsibilities.

“Finally, I want to use this medium to profoundly thank the Controller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi for providing an enabling environment as regards to the renovation in the Command.
