Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Deltans and Nigerians, urging them to embrace love, peace, and unity during the festive season.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori highlighted the essence of Christmas as a period for reflection, renewal, and selflessness.
“Christmas is not just about merriment; it is a season of reflection and renewal,” the governor said. “It reminds us of the boundless love and selflessness Jesus Christ demonstrated during His time on Earth.”
He encouraged Deltans to foster harmony and understanding, setting aside divisions for the collective progress of the state and nation.
“As we celebrate, I urge all Deltans to embody these virtues in their daily lives by promoting unity, peace, and understanding across our communities,” he added.
The governor also called on Christians to pray for a more peaceful and united Delta State and Nigeria.
“Our nation is at a critical juncture,” he noted. “But with collective prayers, determination, and hard work, we can overcome challenges and emerge stronger.”
Governor Oborevwori reassured Deltans of his administration’s commitment to their welfare and sustainable development.
“My administration is dedicated to pursuing people-oriented policies and programmes that will improve the standard of living for all Deltans,” he said. “As we approach 2025, I assure you of better days ahead with equitable development, job creation, and an environment where every Deltan can thrive.”
The governor expressed gratitude for the prevailing peace in Delta State, which has laid a foundation for growth and innovation.
He concluded with a message of goodwill: “May the joy of this season fill your homes, and may the coming year bring renewed hope, prosperity, and fulfillment for all. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year!”
