The President-General of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), Comrade (Prince) Dr. Adewale Adeyanju, has extended heartfelt New Year greetings to Nigerians and stakeholders in the maritime industry as the nation ushers in 2025.
In his message, Adeyanju, who also serves as the Deputy President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Vice President of the International Transport Workers Federation (ITF), expressed gratitude to God for the relative peace experienced in 2024, despite its political and economic challenges.
He urged Nigerians, especially those in the maritime sector, to remain steadfast and resilient, noting that their patience and perseverance amid the country’s adversities would not go unrewarded.
“We have faced economic hardship, insecurity, and other difficulties as a nation, but I commend the resilience of Nigerians,” Adeyanju said. “I believe that, with divine intervention, 2025 will bring stability, progress, and a better life for all citizens.”
Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about a rejuvenated maritime industry in 2025, calling on stakeholders to work collaboratively toward the sector’s growth.
“I urge everyone in the maritime sector to stay committed and prayerful. Together, we can achieve a turnaround that benefits not just the industry but Nigerians as a whole,” he stated.
Adeyanju also encouraged Nigerians to celebrate the New Year with unity and goodwill, avoiding violence and crime. He emphasized the importance of embracing the season’s spirit of love, generosity, and sharing.
Concluding his message, he wished Nigerians a prosperous New Year filled with peace, joy, and success.
