Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated elder statesman and former chairman of the Delta Elders and Leaders Forum, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo, on his 93rd birthday.
In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba on Friday, the governor praised Chief Ogbetuo’s unwavering commitment to good governance, accountability, and societal development.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Delta State, I congratulate our father and leader, Chief Godwin Ogbetuo, on his 93rd birth anniversary,” Oborevwori said.
He described the nonagenarian as a symbol of statesmanship, patriotism, and selflessness whose life has impacted the state and country positively.
“As a renowned elder statesman and patriot, your selfless commitment to humanity has greatly contributed to the stability and progress of Delta State and Nigeria,” the governor added.
Oborevwori acknowledged Chief Ogbetuo’s critical role in the political evolution of Delta State, including his contributions to the governor’s emergence as the state’s leader.
“As former chairman of the Delta Elders and Leaders Forum, you served with remarkable wisdom and courage, playing a significant role in my journey to becoming governor.
“We owe you immense gratitude for your active involvement in Delta’s political development,” he stated.
The governor also offered prayers for Chief Ogbetuo’s continued health, wisdom, and protection as he marks the milestone.
“As you celebrate your 93rd birth anniversary today, I join your family, friends, and well-wishers in giving thanks to Almighty God for your life and praying that He will grant you more years in good health, with increased wisdom and lasting provisions,” Oborevwori concluded.
