The Port and Terminal Multipurpose Limited (PTML) command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has achieved a remarkable milestone, generating over N150 billion in just four months. This impressive feat is attributed to the introduction of the B’Odogwu revenue platform, launched by the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

Comptroller Tenny Mankini Daniyan, Customs Area Controller of the PTML command, announced the achievement during an interview with journalists at his office. He praised the Comptroller General’s innovative approach, which has facilitated trade and increased revenue for the government.

According to Comptroller Daniyan, the B’Odogwu platform, also known as the Unified Customs Management System (UCMS), replaced the existing NICIS administered by Web Fontaine Since its launch on October 23, 2024, the platform has been running smoothly, despite initial challenges during the pilot stage.

“The wisdom of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, birthed this laudable project, which has been a game-changer for the Service,” Comptroller Daniyan said. “The platform has not only increased revenue generation but also provided a more efficient and transparent process for the trading public.”

Daniyan highlighted the benefits of the B’Odogwu platform, which includes maximizing business potential for the trading public, generating more revenue for the government, and providing a more efficient and transparent process. He also noted that the platform would soon be implemented in other commands.

The PTML command’s impressive revenue generation is a testament to the success of the B’Odogwu platform. This achievement is expected to have a positive impact on the country’s economy and trade facilitation.

Comptroller Daniyan attributed the success of the B’Odogwu platform to the commitment and dedication of the officers and men of the PTML command. He also praised the trading public for their cooperation and support.

“The B’Odogwu platform is a legacy project that will be remembered for years to come,” Comptroller Daniyan said. “We are proud of this achievement, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that the platform continues to generate revenue and facilitate trade for the benefit of the country.”

In related news, the PTML command has consistently demonstrated its commitment to revenue generation and trade facilitation. In 2024, the command generated N288.3 billion from January to November, representing a 34.8% increase from the previous year.

The success of the B’Odogwu platform is a testament to the effectiveness of the Nigeria Customs Service’s efforts to modernize its operations and increase revenue generation. As the service continues to implement new initiatives and technologies, it is expected that revenue generation will continue to increase, benefiting the country’s economy and trade facilitation.
