The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG), Adeleye Falade, has commended the Rivers State Police Command for its role in protecting critical national infrastructure and ensuring security around NLNG’s operations. Receiving the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and his team on a courtesy visit to the NLNG Corporate Head Office in Port Harcourt, Falade described the Command as professional, operationally disciplined, and deeply committed to the safety of lives and property in the state.
Falade specifically acknowledged the Police’s contributions to the security of NLNG’s Train 7 project and the Bonny-Bodo Road corridor, noting that their proactive presence has helped to safeguard vital operations and infrastructure. With the upcoming commissioning and official opening of the Bonny-Bodo Road expected to transform access to Bonny Island, he emphasized the need for stronger, forward‑looking security collaboration. “With increased access to Bonny Island, we need a broader conversation on how to preserve the safety of our people and assets. As long as our operations remain secure and uninterrupted, the benefits will continue to extend across the state and the nation,” he said.
Commissioner Adepoju reciprocated the gesture, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to deepening its partnership with NLNG. He described the company as a pride of Rivers State and a key pillar of the national economy, underscoring its importance to local development and national revenue. Adepoju assured that the Police Command has robust operational structures in place and is ready to respond promptly to any security concerns related to NLNG’s facilities and surrounding communities. “NLNG remains a pride of Rivers State and a key pillar of Nigeria’s economy. Our teams are ready to act promptly on any security concerns, with systems in place for rapid response,” he said.
Also present during the visit were NLNG Deputy Managing Director Olakunle Osobu and other members of the company’s management team, underscoring the importance both institutions place on sustained dialogue and joint efforts to secure Nigeria’s strategic energy assets.
