The Kwara State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers and cult members operating in the Amoyo area of Ilorin following a robbery incident at Kabba Kajola Junction. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire‑Adeyemi, the arrests came after a report was received on 19 April 2026 at the Amoyo Division concerning the robbery attack.
Police operatives launched operations that led to the capture of Abdulazeez Isiaq, also known as “Pumpin,” and Rilwan Mohammed, with another suspect still at large. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly assaulted their victims, took them to an uncompleted building used as a hideout, threatened to kill them and then robbed them of valuables, including an iPhone 13 and a Samsung A2S.
The police said a locally made pistol and one of the stolen phones were recovered from the suspects, who have reportedly confessed to the crime. The Command described Isiaq as a known criminal figure, adding that his arrest has disrupted criminal activities in the Amoyo axis. The suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations, while the Command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Kwara State.
