The Acting Customs Area Controller of the Oyo/Osun Area Command, DC Wale Moses Adewole, has reaffirmed the Command’s dedication to more robust collaboration among security agencies after leading official visits to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Nigerian Correctional Service in Oyo State. The courtesy interactions were designed to foster stronger institutional relationships and enhance day‑to‑day operational synergy among the agencies as they execute their mandates.

During the engagements, Adewole stressed that national security is a collective responsibility and that the battle against smuggling, border‑related crimes, and other illicit activities requires constant cooperation, trust, and the free flow of information between relevant agencies. He highlighted that the Command welcomes the opportunity to work more closely with NSCDC and the Nigerian Correctional Service, viewing such partnerships as key to securing borders, facilitating legitimate trade, and protecting government interests.

He added that the Command’s visits are part of a deliberate strategy to consolidate existing memorandum of understanding type arrangements into practical, day‑to‑day coordination mechanisms that can be activated quickly whenever security incidents arise. Both NSCDC and the Nigerian Correctional Service leadership expressed their appreciation for the initiative and reiterated their commitment to maintaining constructive and results‑oriented relations with the Nigeria Customs Service.

The Oyo/Osun Area Command stressed that inter‑agency cooperation is not a one‑off exercise but an ongoing imperative, vital to the effective management of security challenges and the safeguarding of public safety and national assets. The Command also thanked the media and the general public for their continued support and partnership in ensuring that security campaigns are better understood and more effectively implemented across the region.
