Fidelity Bank Plc has carried out a welfare and infrastructure upgrade at Heritage Homes Orphanage in Anthony Village, Lagos, as part of its employee-led Fidelity Helping Hands Programme. The intervention focused on improving the children’s living conditions, supporting their education and making the facility safer and more comfortable.

The project was led by the bank’s Audacious Class of newly inducted employees, who identified the orphanage’s most urgent needs and raised support for the work. The bank matched the funds and helped deliver repairs to the damaged roof and POP ceiling, fumigation of the facility, food supplies and payment of school fees for some of the children.

Fidelity Bank’s Brand and Communications head, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the programme is designed to let employees support causes they care about in their own communities. He said the goal is to create lasting impact by combining staff initiative with institutional support.

The orphanage’s assistant general manager, Irene Light, described the intervention as timely and transformative. She said the renovation and donations brought relief to the home, improved the children’s environment and restored a sense of dignity and hope.

The report also notes that Fidelity Bank serves more than 10 million customers through digital channels, 255 business offices in Nigeria and its UK subsidiary. It said the bank has received several awards for MSME support, retail and SME banking, trade finance, innovation and community empowerment.
