NLNG Pledges Stronger Partnership with Coleman
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited, Adeleye Falade, has pledged to strengthen the company’s partnership with Coleman Technical Industries Limited, particularly in the area of local content development.
Falade made the commitment during a tour of Coleman’s manufacturing facilities in Sagamu and Arepo, Ogun State, where he expressed admiration for the company’s scale of operations, investment in modern machinery and equipment, and the professionalism of its workforce.
Describing the facilities as “mind-blowing,” the NLNG chief executive said the visit demonstrated what Nigerian companies could achieve through sustained investment, innovation and commitment.
He noted that NLNG and Coleman already had an established business relationship, adding that there was significant room to expand the partnership beyond 2027.
“We’re already in partnership. That partnership will only expand. There is scope; there is opportunity,” Falade said.
He explained that NLNG was exploring ways to connect Nigerian manufacturers with international projects, including possible opportunities to participate in the construction of vessels for the company.
According to him, Nigerian-made products can compete successfully in the global market when they meet the required standards and offer strong value.
Falade said NLNG would continue to support initiatives capable of expanding Nigerian businesses, creating jobs and deepening the country’s local-content capacity.
He described Coleman’s factories as a source of pride for Nigeria, saying the company had achieved world-class operational standards while demonstrating the strength of local manufacturing.
The NLNG chief executive also commended Coleman’s leadership, particularly its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, George Onafowokan, and Executive Director, Michael Onafowokan, for building a company with the structure and standards of a global organisation.
Responding, Onafowokan said Falade’s visit represented an endorsement of the long-standing relationship between NLNG and Coleman, as well as NLNG’s continued commitment to developing local capacity.
He said Coleman had benefited from NLNG’s local-content initiatives and had participated in major projects, including NLNG’s Train 7 expansion project.
Onafowokan explained that Coleman’s transformation from a family-owned enterprise into a multinational and generational company was driven by its confidence in Nigerian talent and industrial capacity.
He described the company’s journey as part of the broader Nigerian story, built on the belief that Nigerians can manufacture world-class products and operate internationally competitive facilities within the country.
Onafowokan thanked the NLNG delegation for the visit, saying the positive feedback would encourage Coleman to continue investing in its employees, facilities and production capacity as it contributes to Nigeria’s industrial development.
