Sapele born-politician and chieftain of the People Democratic Party Chief Ede Dafinone has alluded that only a popular candidate can win in the party and in general elections.

Chief Dafinone stated this shortly after the APC gubernatorial primary in Asaba, Delta State where Deputy Senate President And APC Soul governorship Aspirant was declared winner on Wednesday.

He said, the electorates have a way of paying popular candidates back and if your party has selected an unpopular candidate who could not win his Primaries because a popular candidate is left behind, You will find out that the eletorates will vote for the popular candidate.

“So. Even though you hijacked it and you forced a candidate into the system, he will not succeed because he is not popular. So, the thing best is to let the party decide who is their candidate, select the most popular candidates, so as to give your party a chance to win in their election.”
